  • There is a need to diagnose conditions such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or occupational injury for access to resources and support;
  • You’re facing difficulties in school, work, or relationships without a clear cause;
  • Previous treatments have been ineffective, and a deeper understanding is needed;
  • You’ve received multiple diagnoses in the past and need clarification;
  • There's a desire to explore personality traits or emotional functioning.

Assessments can provide valuable insights, guiding more targeted and effective interventions.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a psychological assessment and how does it help?

A psychological assessment is a comprehensive evaluation conducted by a Registered Psychologist to understand your emotional and behavioural functioning. It uses clinical interviews and psychometric testing to understand what may be influencing your mental health and communicates any diagnoses and recommendations for treatment.

2.Do you provide assessments for children?

No, unfortunately we do not provide services to children or youth as it is outside of our scope of practice. Assessments are only available to adults 18 years or older.

2. How much does a psychological assessment cost, and does insurance cover it?

At Centre Wellness, fees are $2,500 for a focused assessment and range from $3,000–$3,500 for a comprehensive assessment. This is a flat fee that is broken down into two equal payments that correspond to your in-person visits. This will be discussed in an initial free phone consultation. We recommend that you contact your insurance provider if applicable, to inquire about your coverage for a psychological assessment prior to booking your first appointment.

4. Do I need a referral from my doctor to get an assessment?

No, a referral is not required to seek a psychological assessment from Centre Wellness.

5. What happens after the assessment is finished?

After testing, you will receive a written psychological report along with a 50-minute feedback session where results, including any diagnoses and treatment recommendations, are communicated to you. Some clients may decide to begin treatment with a therapist following a psychological assessment.
