About Amy

With a background in behavioural psychology and focused training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Amy brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice. Applying an integrative approach, Amy draws from modalities such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, somatic techniques, Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems.

Her training includes extensive work with those diagnosed with personality disorders and trauma histories, providing her with the skills to handle complex issues with care and expertise. Amy's approach is dynamic and collaborative, aiming to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel valued and understood.

In her work, Amy is committed to guiding clients through their therapeutic journey with warmth and empathy. She strives to build a strong therapeutic alliance, firmly grounded in the belief that this connection is crucial for effective therapy.

Her goal is to help clients navigate their challenges with confidence and to celebrate their progress along the way. Amy’s approach is centered on creating a space where clients can explore their deepest struggles, ensuring they never feel alone.

Therapeutic Style

Amy’s sessions are characterized by a blend of humour, playfulness, and professionalism. Amy believes in making therapy engaging and approachable. She balances lightness with the seriousness of the work, creating an environment where clients feel comfortable exploring difficult emotions.

What to Expect

Amy’s blend of humour, warmth, and professional expertise creates a supportive and transformative therapeutic experience, helping clients achieve meaningful and lasting change.

Amy strives to create a natural, supportive, and warm environment. She emphasizes that discomfort, while challenging, is often a precursor to significant personal growth. She explains that by facing and working through these uncomfortable feelings, clients make substantial and lasting changes in their emotional and psychological wellbeing.
Amy balances this understanding with a deep respect for client boundaries, ensuring that safety and readiness are prioritized.
