About Julianna

Julianna is a doctoral student therapist at Centre Wellness, currently completing her Ph.D. at Queen's University. As an advanced doctoral student, she has supported individuals experiencing a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, and emotion regulation difficulties in outpatient hospital and community clinic settings. Her clinical training has provided her with a broad foundation in understanding the diverse and complex factors that shape well-being, including experience working with first responders, corrections workers, and WSIB clients.

As a student therapist, Julianna brings the advantage of ongoing supervision from an experienced psychologist, providing an additional perspective and expertise to your care. She stays current with the latest research and evidence-based practices, and approaches her work with deep commitment, humility, and curiosity—qualities that create rich, meaningful therapeutic experiences for her clients.

Julianna emphasizes being fully present with her clients as an active listener, understanding that consistency and reliability are foundational to effective therapy.

Therapeutic Style

Julianna prioritizes creating a therapeutic environment that feels grounded, cooperative, and safe. She approaches therapy with genuine curiosity and compassion, placing significant value on the therapeutic alliance and ensuring clients feel heard and supported without judgment.

Julianna values her clients deeply and has a unique ability to see their strengths and capabilities even before they recognize these qualities in themselves. She appreciates where clients are in their journey while working to bring their inherent resilience into their awareness.

Her style is characterized by transparency, adaptability, and a commitment to working alongside clients as they explore their experiences. Julianna believes in honouring client agency and self-determination, ensuring that clients remain in control of their therapeutic experience.

What to Expect

Over time, Julianna observes meaningful shifts in her clients as they develop greater self-compassion and emotional flexibility.

In your first session with Julianna, you can expect a warm environment where you're invited to share as much or as little as you feel ready to. The session will involve thoughtful questions aimed at understanding what brings you to therapy and what you're looking for, all asked with genuine curiosity and compassion.

Julianna provides clients with clear direction and joins with them to create a shared path forward, reducing feelings of isolation in their healing journey.
Julianna views therapy as a flexible space that can adapt to what you need in each moment. She encourages clients to bring their honesty about their thoughts and feelings, even if they have doubts about the process itself. There's space for you to ask questions about therapy and about the therapeutic process, particularly regarding her role as a supervised student therapist.
